The Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Technology Landscape – 2018 Edition

The peer-to-peer fundraising technology landscape is changing all the time.  In the last year alone, new tools have come out (Arreva and Givehero to name just two), and mergers abound with GivGab acquiring Kimbia, OneCause acquiring Great Feats, Razoo rebranding as Mightycause, and just last week, Neon and Rallybound joined forces to become NeonOne.   How do you keep up?

That’s why we created The Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Technology Landscape — a guide that offers insights into today’s world of peer-to-peer tools.

Our team published the first edition of the guide in the fall of 2016, and I was honored by how many people approached me at conferences or contacted me via phone or email to tell me how the guide helped them narrow their choices and focus on functionality that was important to them, their campaigns, and their constituents. After two years, I thought it was time to update and expand the research to make it as inclusive as possible.

The 2018 edition of the guide features a whopping 39 software platforms. Even with 39 tools, we still didn’t include every platform available in this edition, but we captured the vast majority.

We spoke with companies / platforms and their clients, and spent many hours sitting through demos, reviewing software sandboxes, and clicking through campaigns to better understand each tool.  Our goal: to help you better understand the platforms available to you, and to narrow the list of tools so you can dig into demos, negotiate contracts, and find the tool that best supports your team, your participants, your donors and, most importantly, your mission.

In the guide, you’ll find:

  • various types of peer-to-peer campaigns and the technology capabilities required to support them
  • points to consider when evaluating peer-to-peer platforms
  • information about 39 of the leading peer-to-peer platforms on the market today

I hope you find it valuable!
